  • Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God,
    and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
    2 Day to day pours out speech,
    and night to night reveals knowledge.
    3 There is no speech, nor are there words,
    whose voice is not heard.
    4 Their voice goes out through all the earth,
    and their words to the end of the world.
    In them he has set a tent for the sun,
    5 which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber,
    and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.
    6 Its rising is from the end of the heavens,
    and its circuit to the end of them,
    and there is nothing hidden from its heat.

    I'm sure someone has said this before me, but it was wonderful to compare the Sun that we are orbiting around to Jesus Christ.

    First the Psalm talks about "the words" of creation. Glory to God is pouring out of the heavens. Every morning all of creation points toward the majesty etc. of our Lord. Everyone has an interpretation of what aspect of creation speaks to them, but this Psalm focuses on the "heavens." There's nowhere that the sky is not above. We are always under it, it is massive and incomprehensible, and it holds the sun.
    This sun is like a bridegroom. Haa. He prepares himself in his tent and leaves his room and like a victorious, prepared, strong, determined man he runs his course. He completes his job. He does everything that is required of him with burning GLORIOUS joy! It begins and ends in the heavens and all of creation feels him as he moves.

    Oh wow.

    And this!

    Proverbs 4:
    14 Do not enter the path of the wicked,
    and do not walk in the way of the evil.
    15 Avoid it; do not go on it;
    turn away from it and pass on.
    16 For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong;
    they are robbed of sleep unless they have made someone stumble.
    17 For they eat the bread of wickedness
    and drink the wine of violence.
    18 But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn,
    which shines brighter and brighter until full day.

    19 The way of the wicked is like deep darkness;
    they do not know over what they stumble.

    Um. We saw Him but we did not know his Glory until the end of the day... :)

    I just love it when my one year bible seems to go together.
    This reminds me of when Kirby spoke about how we (americans? Christians? jaded Christians?) believe that there is depth in the darkness, but the true depth is in the light. I am not eloquent, but cheesy, fluffy stuff has made me steer away from the "lighter" things...but how deep is laughing about a perverse joke when you can be laughing about a prayer that God has answered.
    I don't know. Does this make sense? Did I miss the point?

  • long hair spider legs

    My hair is freaking me out-long
    .

    I feel it on my shoulders and I think that a brown recluse has snuck it's way up my arm and is going to discontinue my life as I know it.

    Besides my hair saga, I'm just getting married in 46 days.

    Today we had a friend spark some interest in how we observe Eucharist in our ceremony.
    This is not a huge issue to me, but I realize that to take it lightly is (to people who believe that Jesus Christ was the Messiah) is actually really really not good.

    So this is making me think more about the eating of bread and the drinking of wine as remembrance of Jesus' death.

    How should it be done in a wedding ceremony? WHY should it be done in a wedding ceremony?

    These are things I want to know.

    Hope you are all well.
